Animal cruelty comes in many forms, but the most atrocious is when a person wantonly harms an animal to see them suffer.

That is what happened to a puppy in Columbus, Ohio when she was set on fire. Fortunately, her abuser was found and arrested and is now spending time behind bars.

A puppy is found suffering from burns

It all started when the Columbus Fire Department was called out to deal with a small fire in an area park. Upon arriving, firefighters found a plastic cage had been set on fire. While they were dealing with the incident, they saw a small puppy running in the area. Upon further examination, it was discovered that the puppy had been in the cage.

The puppy was rushed to a local animal hospital

The puppy was taken to the Diley Hill Animal Medical Center where she received treatment for her burns. While there, she was given the name Korra. Once it was determined that she would be okay, Columbus Division of Fire set about finding her abuser.

Trying to find Korra’s abuser

In response, the Columbus Fire and Explosives Unit took up the case to try and determine who was responsible. They also put a call out to the community, which came together. Within 24 hours, Korra’s abuser was found and taken in by the police.
